Introducing our new ‘Connect to Health’ workshops

We are super duper excited to launch our ‘Connect to Health’ workshops. This is something I am passionate about – educating and empowering people to make the best decisions for their health and well-being. Our workshops are run by our amazing team of practitioners and will include information, demonstrations, interactive activities and more. Each series of workshops will have a different focus and we will have a range of speakers at each so you can learn as much as possible.

Best of all – all the workshops are completely FREE and we will also be providing a range of healthy treats and refreshments. We want to make education and health accessible to everyone so come along with your friends, family, children and have a great morning out.

Our first workshop is on Sunday 19th June 2016 from 9:30am-12:30pm. This workshop will include:

How to Decipher Food Labels (Melinda, dietitian)

Do you want to learn more about healthy eating and reading food labels?

Do you spend hours in the supermarket trying to interpret nutrition information?

Are you confused about what foods are best for good health?

In this interactive workshop our Dietitian, Melinda will cover how to read food labels including what to look for in a product, how to make sense of food claims, glycaemic index symbol and the health star rating system. By the end of the workshop you will be confident in your label reading skills and how to select the best foods for your overall health.

Everything You Need to Know About Processed Foods (Laura, naturopath)

Are you overwhelmed by mixed messages regarding what to eat?

Are you interested in removing processed foods from your diet but unsure where to start?

Would you like to improve your understanding about what foods are best for you and your family?

Each day we are bombarded by media and advertising about health and foods, but it can be difficult to know who to trust.  During this workshop, our naturopath will discuss the different levels of food processing and how to differentiate between what is beneficial in the diet, and what you can leave behind at the supermarket.  At the end of this interactive workshop, you’ll leave with an understanding of how to spot processed foods, and be empowered to make the supermarket work better for you, and to make better food choices.
