What is telehealth?

A virtual alternative to face to face consultations.

We know many patients have concerns about attending the clinic in person (which we completely understand) but we also want to make sure you are able to access our physiotherapy services if you need them. Our physiotherapists are now offering video link up consultations through the Physitrak app. Many of you will be familiar with Physitrak already as this is the app we use to prescribe your exercise programs.

Physiotherapy as a whole has moved away from a reliance on complex machines and manual techniques, and more towards structured rehabilitation plans that the patient carries out themselves under guidance. This lends itself well to an online format, and there is extensive research evidence to support this. In fact, much of the research has found that the outcomes for telehealth are actually on par to face to face consultations.

And rest assured, if we feel that you do need to see a Physiotherapist or other health professional 'face to face', we will certainly let you know and there will be no charge.

Please call the clinic on 9570 1277 or email us at info@connectivehealthcare.com.au for more information or to book.

  • Shoulder pain and stiffness
  • Elbow, wrist and hand pain
  • Hip and knee pain

Frequently Asked Questions

How does physiotherapy telehealth work?

Your physio will still do a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis using questioning, video consultation and messaging with you. They will then formulate a rehabilitation plan specific to your needs and will send any exercise prorgams directly to your Physitrak app. You will also be able to message and contact your physio for the next 7 days to ask further questions, refine your exercises and address any concerns you might have. If needed, a follow up video consultation can be arranged.

How will I get pain relief without hands on treatment?

Hands on treatment feels great and does reduce pain but rehab and exercise based treatment programs produce better and longer lasting results. Video link up consults combined with an exercise program can deliver those results.

What if i don’t have any exercise equipment at home?

You don’t need any specific equipment to get started - your physiotherapist can build a program using what you have at home. If you need anything else, like resistance bands or foam rollers, you can order these through the clinic and we can post them to you.

Do I need a fancy computer or camera?

No, all you need is internet access and either a standard laptop, tablet or smartphone. Your device needs to have a camera but any smartphone will do.

Do I need to be a technical wizard to set it up?

No, the Physitrak app is an intuitive easy to use website or App. We will email you all the information you need to set up for your telehealth consultation including login details, website address and how to download the app. Our lovely reception staff and therapists can step you through the process and answer any queries that you might have.
