Wart Removal

Connective Healthcare is delighted to be able to offer this revolutionary treatment for Verrucae (Warts, HPV). Your podiatrist at Connective can help you rid your self and protect your family from these stubborn and highly contagious lesions in a matter of seconds!

What is swift?

Swift is a new and innovate treatment for warts which works by delivering a precise and contained burst of microwave energy to create heat within the infected tissue. This then stimulates your own immune system to remove the infected tissue and begin cellular repair, thus removing the wart and replacing it with healthy tissue.

Why is swift better than other wart treatments?

Studies have shown Swift to be effective where other wart treatment have previously failed. This includes large warts, mosaic/multiple warts and stubborn old ones which have persisted for more than one year.

Traditional wart treatment such as salicylic acid, cryotherapy, electrotherapy and over the counter medication are mostly painful and have a low success rate.

Swift has many advantages including:

  • Shorter recovery times

  • Minimal pain both during and after treatment

  • No broken skin or burning so there is no risk of permanent scars

  • No dressings or need to keep the site dry so you can swim, shower, run and do everything you would normally do

Is swift suitable for me?

Most people (with a few exceptions) will be suitable candidates for Swift treatment. Your podiatrist will carry out assessment prior to treatment and advise you accordingly.

How quickly will I see results?

You will start to see noticeable changes in the appearance of the wart over the few days after treatment. It takes time for your immune system to respond to the treatment and begin to remove the unhealthy tissue and begin the cellular repair process.

Will it hurt?

As with many treatments for skin lesions, some discomfort may be experienced during treatment. The sensation varies from person to person but most people describe it as warm zinging sensation. Swift is applied for 2 seconds at a time and any discomfort stops immediately.

Is it safe?

Swift uses innovate technology to ensure the delivery of microwave energy is precise and contained, so only the infected tissue is treated. The system has been put through vigorous testing to ensure the highest possible level of safety for patients. Each treatment uses a removable applicator tip so there is no risk of cross contamination or infection.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required depends on the size of the wart and thickness of the skin. Some warts will resolve within two treatments but more may be needed particularly with warts that have been present for over 1 year. Treatments are spaced 2-4 weeks apart and your podiatrist can provide an estimate of how many treatments will be required.
